The consortium of Netherlands Helsinki Committee (NHC), Penal Reform International (PRI), Social Justice (SJ) NGO and Civil Society Institute (CSI) NGO has launched a “Justice Reforms Monitoring in Armenia” (JUREMONIA) project with the financial support of the European Union.
Objectives
- The Consortium (NHC, PRI, SJ NGO, CSI NGO) seeks to provide grants within the JUREMONIA project for CSOs active in work with the different vulnerable groups, community social work, crisis intervention programs. With the grants, the project aims to support people forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh to adapt to their new communities of residence. CSOs should assess the vulnerability and needs, and provide legal services.
- Only one grant will be awarded to CSOs under this call. The selection committee will strive to ensure that all objectives of the call are covered by the grants. Preference will be given to proposals that have a wide geographical reach and engage beneficiaries from vulnerable groups forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, such as women, children, persons with disabilities, people subjected to criminal justice system i.e. victims, perpetrators etc.
- The goal of the grant is supporting the adaptation of the people forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh in their new communities of residence through the provision of crisis services as mentioned above. One of the goals of the project is also to find out to what extent the problems of people forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh are adequately addressed by the measures taken by the state. In addition, it is important to raise the awareness of people forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh about their rights.
- In this regard, the acceess to justice for forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno Karabakh is also of great importance, without which the adoptation process cannot be successful.
- Based on the fact that access to justice programs are longer and involve the provision of various services, co-financing and in-kind contribution is encouraged.
- Within the framework of the project, the protection of the rights of forcibly displaced persons and their families from Nagorno Karabakh is of particular importance.
- Grantees are expected to provide financial and narrative reports. Templates and more details regarding the reporting requirements will be provided in the contract with the grantee.
Funding Information
- CSO’s will be supported up to the 18000 EUR maximum for the project. Only one grant will be awarded. Co-financing or any kind of contribution is encouraged.
- Proposed project duration is minimum 12 and maximum 18 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- This call for proposals is open to non-profit civil society organisations or consortia of non-profit civil society organizations with the status of a legal person, established in Armenia. The JUREMONIA Project Management encourages CSOs to apply as a collaborative project consortium.
- The lead applicant or one of the co-applicants, in case of consortia, participating as a member of the JUREMONIA Platform would be an added value.
- In case of consortia, the main applicant will be responsible for the overall implementation of the action and reporting.
- Public administration institutions, state agencies, local or regional authorities, political parties or organisations affiliated with political parties are not eligible for this call.
