The Tech Equity Collective, a Google initiative to accelerate Black innovation in the tech industry, is launching Tech Equity Collective Impact Fund – a $1M commitment to support US-based organizations improving tech career prospects for aspiring Black technical talent.
The Tech Equity Collective Impact Fund provides financial and strategic support for organizations re-skilling and upskilling aspiring Black technical talent for opportunities in tech.
Benefits
- Selected grantees will benefit from:
- Non-dilutive financial support: Secure $50,000 in funding to fortify your organization’s initiatives in re-skilling and upskilling emerging Black technical talent.
- Organizational development seminars: Attend monthly virtual workshops led by industry thought leaders and practitioners that explore a variety of topics such as leadership and fundraising.
- A supportive community: Collaborate and share resources within Tech Equity Collective’s vibrant community of industry experts, advisors, and peer organizations committed to uplifting Black talent in tech.
Selected organizations are required to complete monthly progress reports and participate in all programmatic elements of the TEC Impact Fund, including:
- Kickoff and closing session
- Monthly founder huddles
- Monthly organizational development workshops
- Bi-monthly virtual networking sessions
- 1:1 progress check-ins
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible organizations must meet the following criteria:
- Black-led or allying tech equity organizations with core programming focused on Black technical talent securing engineering, AI/ML, cybersecurity and other core technical roles
- Headquartered in the U.S.
- Primary audience is aged 18+ only
- Demonstrated impact (e.g. active users, successful job landings, revenue, etc.) in one or more of the following areas: technical upskilling (bootcamps), hiring, career development/coaching
