The UK’s Department for International Development is accepting applications for its program entitled “Economic growth in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan – Enterprise and Innovation Programme.”
The Enterprise and Innovation Programme (EIP) will support the establishment of innovation centres to incubate new businesses (incubators) and provide business advice to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) with the potential and ambition for growth, which will in turn contribute to economic development and prosperity in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
The programme will help to broaden and diversify the economic base by encouraging start-ups and SMEs,thereby stimulating innovation and growth. It will complement other ongoing DFID programmes, notably those targeted at policy formulation and governance for economic development. It will also be complementary to other donors’ priorities and programmes which are more focused on improving the business environment, reform of the financial sector, infrastructure investment and tackling corruption.
