Deadline: 31 December 2018
The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) is seeking applications for its Human Rights Innovation Fellowship on the topic “The Right to Safety in the Northern Triangle of Central America”.
The theme for the 2019 Innovation Fellowship is The Right to Safety in the Northern Triangle of Central America. These projects should focus on the root causes of forced displacement by addressing a major challenge facing individuals and/or communities who are facing displacement in the Northern Triangle. UUSC believes that the root causes of forced displacement are just as important to address as ensuring sanctuary and refuge from harm. As a result, UUSC’s primary goal is to support new systems of protection that address state-sanctioned violence.
Funding Information
Fellows will receive a maximum grant of $25,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- The application is open to non-governmental organizations with an innovative project that is relevant to the Fellowship’s theme (unfortunately, they can no longer accept applications from individuals).
- In addition, advocacy organizations, academic institutions, research centers, grassroots organizations, and UUSC partners may apply for the fellowship. However, UUSC partners’ proposed innovations must be separate from ongoing grants.
- Collaboration by applicants is encouraged.
- Applications may be submitted in English or Spanish.
