Technovation is excited to announce the call for proposals for the Seed Grant Program, inviting organizations from across Africa and Latin America to partner with them in delivering the transformative program that ignites curiosity, creativity, and innovation among girls 8 to 18 years old.

They’ll divide the grant disbursement into two parts, with funding windows scheduled for November 2024 and April 2025. What they are looking for?
- Technovation is actively seeking partner sites to implement Technovation’s program from October 2024 to May 2025. As a selected partner, your organization will receive a Seed Grant of up to $3000.00 USD to support the successful execution of the program at your site.
- Ideal partners will meet the following criteria:
- Organization type
- They encourage applications organizations based in Africa and Latin America and working with communities in these regions, including:
- Registered not-for-profit organizations, including think tanks and civil society/non-governmental organizations
- Educational institutions such as K12 schools and universities
- Embassies/consulates and associated organizations
- Organization type
As an implementation partner you will be responsible for:
- Engaging 40+ girls in learning from the Technovation curriculum and developing a project to submit to the global competition for the duration of the program
- Implementing the 40-60 hours program throughout 2025 either from October to December or from January through April.
- Recruiting volunteers from local corporations and universities. These volunteers would serve as mentors to support the teams and could include professionals, teachers and/or staff.
- Maintaining consistent communication with Technovation headquarters.
- Organizing virtual or in-person events including workshops, company visits, launch events, Regional Pitch events or celebration events
- Guaranteeing the continuation of the program and securing funds in the future other than the Technovation Seed Grant.
- As a result, preference will be given to applicants who have a proven track record of successfully running educational programs in their respective regions.
Priority Countries
- Priority consideration will be given to organizations that are based and operating in the following countries in Africa and Latin America.
- Africa: South Africa, Ghana, Botswana, Ethiopia, Namibia, DRC and Senegal.
- Latin America: Peru and Argentina.
Eligibility Criteria
- You are a registered not-for-profit organization, educational or non educational institution based in Africa or Latin America.
- Proven experience running educational programs.
- Capacity to implement the 40 to 60 hours program throughout 2024/2025 either from October to December or from January through April.
- Ability to engage 40+ girls, nonbinary or transgender youth for the duration of the program.
- Have 1-2 staff members that can be trained by Technovation to lead the program
- Ability to provide access to technical equipment including a desktop or laptop computer and reliable internet access to participants. 1 phone per team for testing.
- Work or plan to work with underserved populations.
- For-profit institutions are not eligible for this notice of funding opportunity
