TC Energy is currently accepting applications for the Social Impact Program.
They consider investment opportunities from communities within an approximate 30-kilometre (20-mile) radius of the operations or projects, that:
- Align with one or more of the focus areas
- Address a gap or need in the community that will allow the community to thrive
- Create shared value and prosperity between the communities and the business
- Promote equity and equality
- Offer engagement opportunities for the employees
- Demonstrate measurable impact
The partnerships reflect the diversity of the communities where they live and work across North America. Through the social impact portfolio, they support organizations that promote equity and equality and contribute to a more inclusive future for them all.
Funding Categories
- TC Energy Build Strong
- At TC Energy, they believe that creating long-lasting relationships in the communities they call home will help them build a stronger future, together. Through the Social Impact program, Build Strong, they invest in meaningful ways in causes and organizations that create shared value and prosperity between the communities and the business. Whether they’re partnering with local organizations, awarding scholarships to future energy problem solvers or encouraging the employees to get involved, they believe that doing good, and doing good business, go hand-in-hand.
- Build Strong seeks to invest in non-profits, registered charities, associations, municipalities, Indigenous groups, social enterprises and foundations that:
- equip first responders with the resources they need to keep the communities safe;
- improve access to education for the future energy problem solvers;
- protect and enhance the environment for today and tomorrow; and
- mitigate barriers to well-being in the communities.
- Types of funding

- A tax-deductible donation made to an organization that does not require the donor to receive significant goods or services in return.
- In-Kind Donations
- A donation of equipment or resources owned by TC Energy made to an organization. Some examples include furniture, vehicles, computers and employee time.
- Scholarships
- The TC Energy Scholarship program provides financial support to students enrolled in post-secondary institutions. They offer over 750 scholarships across Canada, the U.S. and Mexico to help develop the next generation of diverse, innovative community leaders and provide a skilled workforce for the industry.

Through the community legacy program, known as Build Strong, they support Indigenous-led organizations and non-profits to address priorities identified by the communities they work with that:
- equip first responders with the resources they need to keep the communities safe;
- improve access to education for the future energy problem solvers;
- protect and enhance the environment for today and tomorrow; and
- mitigate barriers to well-being in the communities.
- TC Energy offers the following types of funding:
