Applications are now open for the Henderson-Massey Quick Response Grant.
A quick response grant is generally for small value grants and is available up to five times a year.
Priorities
- Higher priorities
- If your project aligns with one or more of the following it is more likely to be funded:
- Activities that improve community connectedness and inclusivity
- Activities that improve Māori and Pasifika outcomes
- Events that demonstrate smoke free, waste minimisation and offers healthy food alternatives
- Activities that promote and encourage a healthy lifestyle
- Activities that are locally based and not for profit events and organisations
- Educational or training programmes that engage and upskill the youth
- Projects that support alternative forms of transport
- If your project aligns with one or more of the following it is more likely to be funded:
- Lower priorities
- Projects that align with one or more of the following are less likely to be funded:
- Costs for travel and accommodation outside Auckland
- Retrospective costs (where the activity has already taken place)
- Fundraising events or activities.

Criteria
- When you apply for a grant, you will choose one of these that your project must align with to be funded:
- Communities are empowered to lead and deliver on their aspirations
- Māori are represented through trusting and productive mana whenua and mataawaka relationships
- Support communities of ethnicity and identity to develop community-led planning and initiatives that empower and celebrate diversity
- Develop projects that meet community aspirations across local board boundaries with Waitākere Ranges and Whau Local Boards
- The community leads the way in kaitiakitanga
- Support communities and businesses to work towards zero waste to landfill by 2040 and to increase their ability to live low-carbon lifestyles
- Māori identity is visible, valued and understood throughout the rohe
Ineligibility Criteria
- The following activities will not be funded:
- Debt servicing or repayment
- Legal expenses
- Activities that promote religious ministry or political purposes
- Medical expenses
- Public services that are the responsibility of central government (e.g. core education, primary health care)
- Physical works – e.g. improvements to community buildings – that require consents or permits, prior to the necessary consents or permits being obtained (grants may be awarded in principle, but funds will not be released until all conditions are satisfied)
- Purchase of alcohol
