The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in the Republic of Kazakhstan with in the framework of the project “Conservation and Sustainable Management of Key Globally Important Ecosystems for Multiple Benefits” has announced a competition on “Implementation of the Concept of high conservation value forests in Kazakhstan and identification of HCVF in the territory of 8 pilot forest protection institutions.”
Purpose
Implementation of the High Conservation Value Forest Concept (HCVF) in Kazakhstan and identification HCVF in the territory of 8 pilot forest protection institution.
Components
The project includes three main components:
- Component 1: Enhancing the representativeness of globally important forest ecosystem biodiversity in network of protected areas and improving the management of protected areas.
- Component 2: Promoting the integration of forest protected areas into the landscape context by creating conditions to effectively regulate and manage globally significant ecosystems.
- Component 3: International collaboration and knowledge management.
The project will work both at the national level and at the local level where it is planned many pilot and demonstration events.
Duration
- The total duration of work is 17 months from the date of signing the contract (presumably August 2020 – December 2021.
Reporting Requirements of the Contractor
- Reports of completed work must be submitted on time in Russian in electronic and paper media in MS Word format for Windows files, font: Times New Roman 12.
- Progress reports must be approved by the UNDP project manager in the field of conservation of biodiversity and will be used as the basis for payment Photographs, maps and other images of reports of completed work must be provided UNDP project in good quality in JPEG and PDF formats.
- Geodatabases and maps obtained during the project must be provided to the UNDP Project in vector formats.
- At the end of the work, the UN Development Program will receive all direct and related copyrights to the use of products to be manufactured under the ToR. The Contractor undertakes comply with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of copyright and related rights when performing tasks.
