The Women’s Fund Grant Program is seeking applications from eligible entities for programming and operational support grants. Preference may be given to new projects or programs and/or new grant applicants. Finalists will be invited to give a 10-minute virtual presentation before the Women’s Fund Grant Review Committee in August.
The mission of the Women’s Fund is to provide ideas, energy, and resources so that girls and women are empowered to achieve economic, social, and political equality.
The vision of the Women’s Fund is to:
- raise awareness of challenges, concerns, and opportunities facing girls and women today
- support opportunities that build leadership skills and confidence among girls and women
- encourage women to become philanthropists

Programming and Operating Grants up to $5,000.
Eligibility Criteria
Grant applicants must fulfill the following criteria:
- Be a nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) tax exempt status or be fiscally sponsored by a nonprofit with such tax exempt status.
- Have principal operations in Grand Forks County or Polk County, unless prior approval received.
- Be current with all reports if a prior Community Foundation grant recipient.
- Demonstrate general fiscal responsibility and agree to use the funds in a manner consistent with the grant application.
- Have a Board of Directors that meets on a regular basis.
- Submit an audit or financial review/compilation completed in the past year by a CPA. If such is not available, submit BOTH a recent balance sheet and profit-loss statement signed by the organization’s Treasurer.
- Submit only one application, either for programming support or operational support.
- Submit a complete and accurate application, providing all requested information, by the stated deadline.
- Funding must be spent between October 1, 2020 and September 30, 2021.
Application Requirements
- Applicants may only submit one application to the Women’s Fund Grant Program, either for programming support or operation support – not both.
- Any applicant or project determined by Community Foundation staff to be ineligible will be eliminated from the review process.
- If your proposal contains minor errors, an effort will be made to contact you to correct the errors after the submission deadline and prior to the distribution of the applications to the grant review panel.
- If your proposal is incomplete or otherwise ineligible, you will be notified within five business days of the submission deadline that your proposal will not be considered.
Applications will NOT be considered for the following: general operating expenses (applies to programming support grants only), individuals, annual appeals, membership drives, endowments or capital campaigns, religious organizations for religious purposes, or projects of organizations with discriminatory employment or program practices.
