Deadline: 7-Jul-25
The Levi Lassen Foundation is committed to empowering Ethiopian-Israeli youth, particularly women and men between the ages of 15 and 30. The Foundation supports NGOs that work to advance this demographic through impactful, grassroots initiatives. In addition, it funds specific projects that serve Ethiopian-Israeli youth, reinforcing the Foundation’s dedication to creating lasting change within this community.
Beyond this focus, the Levi Lassen Foundation also extends its support to NGOs in Israel that have a Dutch affiliation. This includes organizations with strong connections to the Dutch community, especially those offering care and assistance to elderly immigrants from Holland, such as nursing homes.
Organizations can apply for annual grants of up to €15,000. These grants are typically awarded for one year, and grantees may apply for renewal, provided they submit an evaluation report that is approved by the Foundation. The Foundation generally covers no more than 50% of the total cost of a specific project.
To be eligible, applicant NGOs must demonstrate alignment with Levi Lassen’s core mission. Projects must reflect a grassroots character, be practical in nature, and aim to make a tangible impact. The Foundation expects NGOs to operate with stability, creativity, and efficiency, with sound financial health and proper legal status (Nihul Takin). However, startup NGOs without Nihul Takin are also welcome to apply. Importantly, only one grant request can be submitted per organization each year, and if successful, a new request may be made in the following year.
There are clear limitations to what the Foundation will support. It does not fund individuals, including scholarships or food and equipment distribution to individuals. Projects with political or advocacy goals are excluded, as are those focused solely on the arts such as music, theatre, or visual arts. Funding is not available for formal education, hospitals, medical treatments or equipment, or programs aimed at special needs communities. Religious activities, academic research, universities and colleges, and construction or renovation costs are also ineligible.
The Levi Lassen Foundation’s funding approach reflects a commitment to grassroots impact, youth empowerment, and support for the elderly Dutch community in Israel, ensuring that the resources are directed where they can make a meaningful difference.
