Deadline: 25-Jul-25
The U.S. Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine, under the U.S. Department of State, has announced an open competition for non-governmental, non-profit organizations to submit a Statement of Interest (SOI). This opportunity is focused on implementing projects that strengthen U.S.-Ukraine educational partnerships.
The primary goal of the U.S.-Ukraine Educational Partnerships for Workforce Development program is to modernize Ukraine’s workforce in a way that supports a favorable business and investment climate for U.S. companies. It aims to align vocational and technical training programs with labor market demands to ensure Ukraine’s workforce is prepared for the evolving economic landscape.
This program will support initiatives that improve workforce readiness, enhance technical and vocational training, promote professional development, and support the reintegration of war veterans into the workforce. A key emphasis is on creating a modern, adaptable, and highly skilled labor force to benefit American businesses operating in Ukraine.
The initiative is structured around two key objectives. First, in the area of Career and Technical Education, it seeks to enhance Ukraine’s training programs by forming partnerships with U.S. educational institutions. These partnerships will help close skills gaps in priority sectors and align outcomes with U.S. economic interests.
Second, in Professional Training and Reintegration, the program will apply U.S. best practices to develop specialized training and support services. These efforts will target professionals and war veterans, aiming to reskill and upskill them for employment in sectors of importance to U.S. businesses.
Funding for awarded projects will range from $25,000 to $50,000. Proposed projects should be completed within 12 to 24 months.
Expected outcomes of the program include an improved readiness of Ukraine’s workforce to meet current market demands, better coordination between vocational schools and industry, higher employment rates for war veterans and mid-career professionals, and stronger U.S.-Ukraine educational ties. Additionally, the initiative aims to increase the use of U.S.-style technical and vocational education models in Ukraine.
Eligible applicants include Ukrainian non-governmental, non-profit organizations that are authorized to receive U.S. federal grants. All applicants must possess a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI).
