The Human Security Grant Aid Program “KUSANONE (Grass Roots)” is an initiative by the Japanese Government to support local governments, regional schools, medical institutions, NGOs, public associations, and foundations. The program focuses on financing social projects that promote human security and help ordinary people.
The main goal is to encourage sustainable personal independence and social development by ensuring safety and enhancing the potential of local residents. Project areas include health care, social security, environmental protection, and other issues related to human security.
Grants typically provide around 5 million Japanese yen per project. Eligible projects must ensure human security, be short-term (completed within one year), and demonstrate clear, impressive results. They should be specific, feasible, and implemented by organizations with a stable financial position and relevant experience. Applicants must be capable of responsibly managing the project.
Potential recipients include any non-profit organizations working on socio-economic development in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Examples include educational and medical institutions, local authorities (Akimats), NGOs, public organizations, and public funds.
