Deadline: 11-Aug-2025
The Cooperative Initiatives Grants Program will provide funding to organisations that work together to identify and address workplace issues. This funding encourages collaboration among stakeholders and aims to promote compliance and positive change throughout all levels of workplace participants.
The goal is to create harmonious, productive, and legally compliant workplaces by supporting partnerships that engage with the Fair Work Ombudsman (FWO). It also supports the early development of innovative, multi-stakeholder mechanisms that aim to deliver long-term, systemic improvements. The program seeks to help both workers and employers covered by Australia’s federal workplace relations system.
A total of AUD $7.2 million is available under the program. Projects must be carried out between 1 July 2025 and 30 June 2029, with all activities completed by the end date.
The program aims to embed cooperative practices that monitor and prevent non-compliance with Commonwealth workplace laws. It seeks to build the capacity of collaborative mechanisms to improve workplace practices and relationships, while also tackling the root causes of non-compliance.
To be eligible, applicants must submit proposals as a group of organisations working together. The lead organisation must have an Australian Business Number (ABN), be registered for GST (unless exempt), be based in Australia, and hold an account with an Australian financial institution. The lead must also be a legal entity able to enter into binding agreements and fall under one of the following categories: a registered charity, a non-charitable not-for-profit, an industrial association, or a peak council.
