The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Budapest is inviting nominations for the Human Rights Tulip 2025. This prestigious annual award, presented by the Dutch government, honors courageous individuals and organizations who promote and protect human rights through innovative and impactful approaches.
Each year, the award recognizes one global winner, chosen from candidates worldwide. The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague oversees the international selection process, and the Embassy in Budapest may nominate one candidate from Hungary to be considered among the ten finalists.
The winner of the Human Rights Tulip 2025 will receive €50,000 to support and expand their human rights efforts. Additionally, nine runners-up will each be awarded €5,000.
Nominations are open for individuals or organizations based in Hungary who are actively engaged in protecting or promoting human rights. Eligible candidates must demonstrate innovative approaches, a proven track record of impact, and a commitment to long-term change. While not mandatory, a basic understanding of English is useful for participating in the award’s visitors program.
