Deadline: 17-Sep-2025
The Creative Saskatchewan Marketing Grant Program supports marketing and publicity initiatives to help creative professionals boost visibility and drive sales. The program includes a Micro Stream designed for smaller, more targeted marketing projects. Each applicant can receive one Marketing Grant – Micro Stream per fiscal year.
Approved projects are eligible for up to 50% funding of the project budget, with a maximum cap of $5,000 per applicant per year. Projects must have a commercial focus and show potential for market success, demonstrating viability and demand.
Eligible expenses include hiring publicists or marketing professionals, creating marketing materials, branding, website design, social media advertising, documentation of visual art, market research, distribution, and promotional travel. Costs related to promotional tours, press appearances, and shipping are also covered. For in-house marketing, applicants must justify their rates and provide a breakdown of expenses, explaining why internal efforts are preferable to hiring external professionals.
Travel and accommodation costs are limited to Saskatchewan residents. Live Performing Arts applicants can include travel for out-of-province artistic directors visiting Saskatchewan to view their work with the goal of securing bookings outside the province.
For film, TV, and digital media, applicants must own at least 50% of the project copyright and include revenue-sharing structures. Out-of-province promotional video production expenses must be well justified, as local spending is preferred.
Eligible applicants must be active in one of Creative Saskatchewan’s supported industries, including film and TV, visual arts, music, live performing arts, digital games, and book publishing. Applicants must show commercial intent and a desire to grow their business.
Applicants can be individuals or corporations. Corporations must be Saskatchewan-based, majority-owned by Saskatchewan residents, have a permanent establishment in the province, and must have filed a recent Saskatchewan income tax return. Individuals must have filed a Saskatchewan income tax return in the previous year. Recently returned residents can provide a Saskatchewan driver’s license or photo ID as proof.
Applications from political or religious organizations, or those that discriminate based on personal beliefs, identity, or status, will not be accepted.
