Deadline: 06-Aug-2025
The Love Queenstown Community Fund offers an opportunity for visitors and the tourism industry to support local efforts to protect the natural environment (te taiao), safeguard its treasures (taonga), and uplift the community (whānau) that lives there.
This year, eligible organisations can apply for funding amounts between $5,000 and $10,000.
Funding can support various needs, including programme costs—specific parts of an organisation’s broader work with targeted impact. It can also cover project costs for time-bound, one-off activities with clear budgets and deliverables. Operational costs tied to ongoing activities of an organisation, programme, or initiative are also eligible.
Funding may also support social enterprise models. These are commercial ventures operated by charitable organisations to help achieve financial sustainability. Funds may go toward operational costs of such ventures but cannot be used for private gain.
To qualify, projects must provide a clear localised benefit within the Queenstown region, including areas from the Cardrona Saddle in the north to Kingston in the south, and towns like Frankton, Arrowtown, Glenorchy, and Gibbston.
Organisations must be registered charities that demonstrate charitable intent and public benefit. Funding cannot be used for private financial gain or non-charitable purposes.
Projects must also show a measurable environmental impact. Eligible activities include local climate action, conservation or biodiversity work, native planting, pest and invasive species control, waterway protection, and waste reduction efforts.
