Deadline: 16-Sep-2025
Pfizer is inviting applications for its Independent Medical Education Grant, aimed at supporting educational initiatives that address gaps in knowledge and practice related to the diagnosis, severity assessment, treatment, and care management of Alopecia Areata (AA). The focus is on both adult and adolescent patients aged 12–17 who may also have comorbidities.
As treatments for alopecia areata continue to advance, the grant seeks to fund educational symposia at major U.S. dermatology congresses. These events should concentrate on improving understanding and practices concerning severity assessment, treatment options, and comprehensive care for patients affected by the condition.
Applicants may request funding of up to $100,000 USD per project. Each project must be completed within a maximum duration of 12 months. The grant opportunity is limited to projects based in the United States.
Eligible applicants include medical, dental, nursing, pharmacy, and allied health schools, as well as healthcare institutions, professional societies, medical education companies, and other organizations with a focus on healthcare education or improvement. Individuals or unaffiliated private medical practice groups are not eligible to apply.
If a project involves collaboration across multiple departments or organizations, all parties must play relevant roles, and the lead applicant must be a key contributor to the project. The applicant must be either the project lead or an authorized designee, such as a grant coordinator, and must be employed by or contracted with the applying organization.
Applicants must ensure that their organization can legally receive funding directly from Pfizer Inc. before submitting an application. If a grant is awarded to an organization that is later found ineligible to accept Pfizer funding, the grant may be withdrawn. Additionally, any project offering continuing education credits must be managed by an accredited organization.
