The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund has launched a Call for Expression of Interest (CFEI) in Lebanon with a focus on strengthening the protection environment for girls, boys, and women.
This initiative is centered in the Beqaa region and aims to provide critical support in areas such as birth registration, child protection, family reunification, gender-based violence prevention and response, legal assistance, access to justice, and protection in emergencies.
The overall goal of this opportunity is to protect and empower children and women from all forms of violence, abuse, exploitation, neglect, and gender-based violence, while reinforcing national child protection systems. UNICEF emphasizes the importance of building stronger policies, procedures, and institutional knowledge to create a sustainable framework for child rights and justice.
The program outlines three main areas of results. First, it seeks to strengthen political and national commitment, accountability, and collaboration through capacity building and system development. Second, it aims to improve prevention and early intervention services by equipping communities and caregivers with the tools to stop harmful practices, enhance resilience, and provide safer environments for children and women. Finally, it will expand access to comprehensive, high-quality child protection and response services, ensuring equitable support for those in need.
By addressing both immediate protection needs and long-term systemic change, this CFEI underscores UNICEF’s commitment to advancing child rights and safeguarding the well-being of vulnerable groups in Lebanon.
