Deadline: 15-Oct-2025
The Youth Fund, administered by the Icelandic Centre for Research, provides support for children and young people aged 6 to 25 through youth associations and organizations.
Its goal is to broaden the range of activities these groups can offer by helping them expand their programs, strengthen leadership, mentorship, and volunteer participation, and promote innovation and development within their initiatives.
Projects eligible for funding include those organized by youth groups with active participation from children and adolescents, along with efforts to train leaders, mentors, and volunteers. Priority is given to collaborative ventures among youth associations that bring something new or involve development work. The fund seeks initiatives with direct involvement and decision-making by young people themselves.
Applicants must be those in charge of youth associations or youth organizations. Regular sports clubs whose applications focus on traditional sports activities are not eligible under this specific fund. The fund supports project costs generally rather than funding salaries, and it excludes recurring events or repeated costs for group travel or tournaments.
All submissions must follow the guidance and application process provided by Rannis. Those interested are advised to review application instructions carefully to ensure their project aligns with the youth law requirements and with the fund’s evaluation criteria.
Through this fund, youth associations have a strong opportunity to enrich their programming, empower young people, and contribute to the social and development goals of youth work in Iceland. It is a chance for groups to innovate, build capacity, and strengthen the impact of youth engagement.
