The Development Academy of the Philippines, through its Graduate School of Public and Development Management, invites submission of Research Proposals, under the theme “Building Preferred Futures: Research for Sustainable Development in the Philippines.”
The focus of this research call includes Policy Innovation and Regulatory Reform, Strategic Foresight and Futures Thinking for anticipatory governance, National and Regional Governance and Development, SDG Localization and Implementation at local and sectoral levels, Resilience and Institutional Adaptability in the public sector, Apply Strategic Foresight and Futures Thinking Tool & Methodologies, Align with specific SDGs and measurable targets, Use Interdisciplinary Approaches (i.e., quantitative and qualitative methods).
Researchers are invited to submit proposals not exceeding ten pages by 31 October 2025. Submissions should include the title of the research project, an abstract of no more than 300 words, background, rationale and scope, research objectives and questions, SSDG focus, methodology, expected outcomes and contributions to SDGs, references, a timeline, a budget breakdown, and curriculum vitae.
The fellowship encourages studies that will generate insights and strategies for strengthening governance structures, fostering institutional resilience, and supporting the effective implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals at both national and local levels.
Proposals must be submitted and selected projects are expected to demonstrate both theoretical and practical contributions that can shape governance and policy reform. By focusing on interdisciplinary approaches, the research seeks to bridge knowledge and practice, ensuring alignment with specific SDGs and measurable targets while enhancing the adaptability of public sector institutions.
