Deadline: 10-Oct-2025
The Northamptonshire Community Foundation is seeking applications for its Alastair James Memorial Trust Grant Program.
The Trust makes small grants—up to £1,000—to registered charities and voluntary/community groups across the East Midlands and East Anglia. It is especially interested in helping those with limited resources; organisations applying must have annual incomes of no more than £1.5 million.
In addition to group grants, the fund sometimes supports individuals who can show a genuine unmet need. One of the distinctive features is that the Trust is willing to purchase items of equipment (including vehicles), preferably made in the UK, if those items will be donated to charities or voluntary groups.
Applicants need to meet some standard requirements: they should have a written constitution or set of rules that includes a dissolution clause, equality and safeguarding policies, and proper procedures for caring for vulnerable people or children. The geographical region covered is East Midlands and East Anglia, and the projects supported are of a general type—that is, not strictly limited to any single field.
Through its small grants, the Alastair James Memorial Trust has supported a variety of causes: improving accessibility at centres, providing equipment for young people’s outdoor activities, supporting homeless services, sensory resource libraries, and more.
