The Public Interest Journalism Laboratory (PIJL) together with the European Center for Press and Media Freedom (ECPMF) has announced the continuation of the fellowship project for independent regional media and journalists in the second half of 2025 and a new call for applications for the competition.
The scholarships are designed to provide financial support for editorial offices and individual journalists facing challenges in their work. Editorial offices can receive funding in the amount of 900 Euros per month (in the equivalent in hryvnia), for a total amount of up to 3600 Euros. Individual journalists are eligible for 600 Euros per month (in the equivalent in hryvnia), for a total amount of up to 1800 Euros. This support aims to enable media professionals to continue producing content that serves the public interest while navigating the difficulties posed by the ongoing situation in the country.
Independent regional media and journalists from regions most affected by military actions; editorial offices and journalists from all over the country who found themselves in a critical situation. Mandatory conditions: work experience in Ukraine for at least 2 years on the Ukrainian market; continue to work on the territory of Ukraine; create your own content that is of public interest.
Applications for this scholarship program are being accepted until October 5, 2025. Eligible candidates are encouraged to prepare their submissions in accordance with the outlined requirements to secure support for their journalistic endeavors.
