The Godolphin Edwards Fund has a long history of supporting individuals in need within local parishes.
Originally established as the Godolphin Edwards Relief in Need Charity.
As charity regulations evolved and new responsibilities were placed on trustees, the original administrators of the fund sought guidance on how best to continue its legacy. Following professional legal advice, the trustees opted to transfer the fund’s management to the Community Foundation. This transition ensures that the fund remains active and sustainable, with the foundation’s infrastructure providing long-term support for people in need.
Grants of up to £2,500 are now available through the Godolphin Edwards Fund, helping to continue its mission of alleviating hardship in the community. The fund remains focused on providing practical support where it is most needed, and aims to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals experiencing difficult times.
Applications are welcomed from constituted community and voluntary groups, registered charities, and social enterprises. Eligible organisations must be able to demonstrate a proven track record in delivering services that directly benefit those in need.
The fund does not support non-constituted groups, statutory agencies, or organisations. Additionally, private companies and groups without a history of effective service delivery are not eligible to apply.
With its strong foundation and clear purpose, the Godolphin Edwards Fund continues to uphold its original values—offering timely, targeted support to those who need it most in the local area.
