Deadline: 15-Oct-2025
The Australian Embassy in Mexico is now inviting applications for development funding through its Direct Aid Program (DAP), offering support for community-based projects.
This funding presents a unique opportunity for wildlife rehabilitation centers and conservation organizations to receive meaningful support for their efforts. The 2025 grants will assist 15 centers located in 14 different states, helping them expand operational capacity, enhance community education, and improve outreach initiatives. With both returning recipients and new participants, this year’s group reflects the increasing demand for wildlife protection resources in a changing climate.
Avangrid Foundation’s support arrives at a critical time, as climate change and human development place greater pressure on native species and habitats. The Wildlife Rehabilitation Program targets organizations whose work focuses on species such as birds, bats, marine animals, and other threatened or endangered wildlife. These grants aim to create long-term benefits, not only for the animals directly affected but also for the broader ecosystems they support.
Eligible organizations include registered nonprofits or qualified entities with a primary mission in wildlife rehabilitation and at least one year of operating experience. Applicants must hold the appropriate permits for handling and caring for wildlife. While the selection process is competitive, there is a strong emphasis on supporting projects that demonstrate impact, innovation, and a commitment to long-term wildlife wellbeing.
This initiative is part of Avangrid’s broader mission to support environmental stewardship alongside its role as a clean energy provider. With a growing network of energy infrastructure and renewable generation projects, the company recognizes that protecting wildlife is a vital part of a truly sustainable future. Through this opportunity, organizations on the front lines of wildlife care have a chance to secure critical resources and contribute to a cleaner, safer, and more balanced environment.
