Deadline: 24-Oct-2025
The SENSE Foundation Brussels has opened submissions for its grant program, supporting nonprofits in Belgium and abroad that align with its mission in health, environment, and sustainable development.
The foundation prioritizes projects focused on genetics, nutrition, environmental protection, and related arts and culture initiatives—especially those led by women and minorities, ensuring inclusion and diversity guide its support.
Grants from SENSE may cover up to 25 percent of a project’s total annual cost, though no award will exceed €25,000. Overhead funding is capped at 10 percent. Funding is usually one-time, with rare exceptions for universities supporting student grants. Eligible organizations must be legally registered as nonprofits and must have at least two years of operating history. Projects should be scheduled for implementation in 2025 or 2026, and applicants must clearly show how the funds will address specific needs and generate measurable impact.
Only one application per organization is allowed each calendar year. Organizations with overheads exceeding 20 percent are disqualified, as are those that have failed to submit impact reports for past grants or whose proposals are misaligned with SENSE’s objectives. Projects seeking commercial sponsorship, those tied to political or religious agendas, or repeating previously rejected proposals are also excluded.
Applications will be evaluated based on the number of foundation objectives addressed, alignment with inclusion, equality, and diversity principles, sustainability, methodology clarity, and the ability of the foundation’s support to act as a “booster” for further growth or funding. Selected grantees will sign agreements and receive funds within 30 days. Reporting takes place October–November 2026 through a simple online impact form in English, helping the foundation assess how contributions were used and what difference they made.
