Deadline: 15-Sep-20
The Alfred and Mary Douty Foundation is seeking applications for its Grants program.
Since 1968, the Douty Foundation has provided funding to organizations working to foster equitable opportunities for children and youth in Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties in Pennsylvania.
Focus Areas
- Community-based Youth Arts Education, Education Equity, Literacy, Leadership
- Promoting Justice within the Criminal Legal System particularly for youth and/or women
Funding Information
- Douty’s grant awards will increase to a maximum of $20,000.00 per year and all will be three-year commitments.
- While the foundation has made a conscious decision to expend 10% to 15% of its assets per year on grants each year (rather than the minimum IRS requirement of 5%), the increase in grant size will necessitate the creation of a funding focus to its annual Request for Proposals.
The foundation supports organizations that:
- have demonstrated roots within the community;
- have a commitment to community engagement;
- have limited access to funding sources;
- provide or promote educational opportunities for children and youth;
- are focused on long-term social change through its work;
- are willing to take risks in terms of program delivery or the development of solutions to needs or problems
