Deadline: 15-Oct-2025
The GCERF invites Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in Uzbekistan to apply for funding to implement programmes that prevent violent extremism online among youth and at-risk groups, including labour migrants, and promote community resilience against radicalisation, building on the previous work by the Government of Uzbekistan.
Selected organisations will be expected to design and implement programmes that are rooted in needs assessments and informed by baseline surveys. These programmes should not only counteract extremist messaging but also promote positive community engagement and social cohesion, ultimately preventing social instability. To ensure both safety and impact, applicants must demonstrate a proven ability to work with the target populations, as well as technical expertise in managing complex programming.
Grants will be awarded for a period of 24 months, with a funding range of USD 250,000 to USD 500,000. Given the scale and focus of the initiative, only one or two grants will be awarded.
To be eligible, applicants must show established relationships and credibility within the target communities. They should have strong experience in programme design, financial management, and handling international donor funds. Capacity to manage sub-recipients within a consortium is essential for those applying as part of a group.
In addition, GCERF is looking for organisations with a proven track record in community-level initiatives that address the local drivers of violent extremism. The ideal applicants will have experience working with youth and labour migrants, particularly on empowerment and leadership development. Proposals that include alternative narratives and positive role models are highly encouraged.
