The Fondation Marc de Montalembert is requesting applications for its Cultural Grants Program to encourage young people in acquiring a better knowledge of the cultures of their region through grants and scholarships for cultural projects or those linked to the development of crafts.
Projects have been realized in the following fields: creative writing, architecture, archeology, anthropology and sociology, music, history of art, craftsmanship, engraving, painting, photography.
Each year, one or two grants are awarded to support the realization of a cultural undertaking or a project related to the development of a craft. The program seeks individuals who demonstrate a genuine vocation in a specific cultural field and propose a project that will be carried out in one or more Mediterranean countries different from their own. Candidates must be under 28 years of age in the year the grant is awarded and must belong to a country bordering the Mediterranean.
Only individual and personal projects of a cultural nature are eligible. Projects must be original and produce a concrete outcome that can be shared. Collective projects or those connected to academic courses or university research are not accepted.
Interested applicants should request an application form by completing an online questionnaire before November 15 of the current year, accompanied by a presentation letter in PDF format. Only candidates considered valid by the pre-selection committee will receive the application form and instructions on December 1. The completed form and required documents must be submitted by December 31.
The announcement of the grant award will take place in late March, followed by the presentation in late April. The winner must present the final result of their project within the following year. After evaluating the quality of the completed work, the Foundation may also provide assistance for its publication or dissemination.
