Deadline: 06-Nov-2025
The Bhutan Centre for Media and Democracy (BCMD) has announced a Call for Proposals inviting civil society organizations, community groups, and media initiatives to submit project ideas that foster media literacy, digital citizenship, and civic engagement in Bhutan.
This opportunity aims to strengthen citizens’ ability to think critically, engage responsibly online, and participate meaningfully in democratic processes through media and dialogue.
Projects under this call are expected to explore innovative and practical approaches that promote informed public discourse, counter misinformation, and support inclusive participation—particularly among youth and marginalized groups. BCMD encourages applicants to propose activities that have a lasting community impact and can continue to grow sustainably beyond the funding period.
Applicants may apply for grants with a ceiling of EUR 8,000, with an implementation period of up to 10 months. Administrative costs are capped at 10% of the total project budget, and any costs beyond this threshold must be covered by the applicant organization from other sources. Proposals must present clear goals, measurable outcomes, and a realistic timeline that demonstrates accountability and feasibility.
The call prioritizes projects that integrate creativity, collaboration, and community participation. Applicants should carefully review the eligibility and budget requirements before submission and ensure that proposed activities align with BCMD’s mission to strengthen democratic values and civic consciousness through media and dialogue.
This opportunity offers a valuable platform for Bhutanese organizations to contribute to a more informed, resilient, and participatory society, supporting BCMD’s broader vision of nurturing thoughtful citizens and responsible media engagement in Bhutan’s evolving democratic landscape.
