Deadline: 23-Oct-2025
The Carn Hill Community Benefit Fund offers support to community and voluntary groups in the Monkstown, Grange, Woodburn, Greenisland, and Ballynure areas.
It is managed by CGN Europe on behalf of Gaelectric, which aims to share the benefits of local wind farm developments with neighbouring communities. Grants of up to £3,000 are available. The fund typically supports local community or voluntary group-led projects. Priority is given to applications that address skills development for young adults, intergenerational connections, efforts to reduce rural isolation, community arts, and ideas that make better use of community spaces.
Projects must fall within a 6 kilometer radius of the windfarm site. This covers areas including Monkstown, Grange, Woodburn, Greenisland, Ballynure, and Carnmoney.
Projects eligible for funding are those that build skills among young adults, bring generations together, reduce rural isolation, support community arts, or enhance the use of existing community spaces.
To apply, eligible organisations must be locally based not-for-profit or voluntary/community groups, with active management structures in place (for example a management committee). They will need a bank account in the organisation’s name and governing documents (constitution or equivalent). Organisations may also need to show they have up-to-date accounts and are compliant with any previous grant conditions
