Meta’s Data Center Community Action Grants program provides direct funding to schools, registered nonprofits, and community organizations located in areas where Meta operates data centers.
The program is designed to empower local communities by providing essential financial resources that support education, innovation, and public benefit initiatives. By directly funding schools and community-based organizations, Meta aims to strengthen the regions surrounding its data centers and encourage meaningful local impact. Schools are encouraged to coordinate applications through their superintendents to ensure competitive and feasible proposals that align with local needs.
The focus of this program is to support eligible organizations in communities where Meta has a data center. In the United States, registered nonprofit organizations as per the program’s terms and conditions and public schools are eligible for grants. In Europe, registered not-for-profit organizations and government entities, including state-run schools and municipalities, are eligible. Schools may apply for multiple grants, while all other organizations are limited to one application per cycle. Projects must have demonstrable metrics that can be publicly reported, and grant funds are intended to be used within one year of the award date.
Ineligible organizations include programs or projects operated exclusively for religious purposes or proselytizing, organizations that make hiring choices or provide goods or services based on race, gender, faith, national origin, sexual orientation, or disability, and organizations that promote or support specific political ideologies, doctrines, candidates, or issues. For-profit companies, 501(c)(4) organizations in the United States, proposals for endowments, memorials, or budget deficits, United States governmental entities, and programs that support cash grants or scholarships for individuals are also not eligible to apply.
Through this initiative, Meta continues to foster collaboration and growth in its data center communities, ensuring that the benefits of technological progress extend to education and public welfare.
