Nafasi Art Space with the Swiss Embassy of Tanzania is launching an open call for proposals for arts and culture projects.
Selected applicants will receive funding, mentorship and support to realise their initiatives. The theme of the call, “FEEL FREE”, invites artists and arts organisations, collectives, and groups, to explore concept development and audience engagement in thoughtful, ambitious ways, in any artistic or cultural discipline, including visual arts, performing arts, theatre, literature, digital art and new media, and more.
Nafasi Art Space sees this call as a chance for artists and arts organisations to be bold, experimental, and ambitious while they explore the process and presentation of artistic production. This call is also a chance to gain confidence and skills in grant and project management, working with Nafasi Art Space to build their own professionalism and to gain competency and ability in arts production.
Funding Information
- Applicants may apply for an amount between 5 – 25 million TZS.
- All projects must be completed by June 2021.
Eligibility Criteria
- Institutions and individuals working in the creative and cultural sectors. This includes artists, cultural actors, higher education institutions, local authorities, and social enterprises operating in the field.
- Applicants must be active in the cultural and creative sectors and able to demonstrate that they have the necessary experience and capacity to manage projects for the promotion of arts and culture in Tanzania. If the requisite experience is not there, the applicant may be able to undergo mentorship or incubation with experts at Nafasi Art Space before receiving funds.
- Preference will be given to applicants that are citizens of Tanzania, but open to residents and collaborations with international artists.
