Deadline: 15-Jan-2026
Does your region face similar environmental challenges to EUROLakes’ demonstration sites? Are you eager to protect and revitalize natural lake ecosystems in Europe? If yes, then this is your chance to get involved in a transformative initiative supported by the Horizon Europe Programme of the European Union.
This call invites regions facing environmental and ecosystem challenges similar to those addressed at EUROLakes’ demonstration sites to apply for support in adapting these restoration models to their own local contexts.
Each selected region will receive financial support of EUR 75,000, with a project duration of 20 to 24 months. Eligible applicants include local or regional authorities from EU Member States (excluding those already represented in the EUROLakes consortium) and Horizon Europe–associated countries that oversee natural lakes and their catchment zones.
Selected applicants will collaborate with EUROLakes experts to co-develop and implement tailored restoration plans based on the project’s “4 Returns Framework” methodology, benefiting from mentorship, technical guidance, and access to proven tools and knowledge.
This initiative provides a valuable opportunity for eligible regions to access expert knowledge, collaborate with leading practitioners in lake restoration, and enhance their environmental resilience while contributing to the sustainable management of water ecosystems across Europe.
