The Northumberland United Way (NUW) is seeking applications for its Impact Grants to enable not-for-profit organizations to initiate or pilot a new program or service that will address a health or human service need that is not currently being met within the county, or to respond to vital needs in the community. Projects and/or services can make the community stronger by helping address current or future challenges.
Northumberland United Way has been changing the lives of people living in Northumberland County since 1969. As the largest non-governmental funder of locally-based health and social services in Northumberland County, NUW is dedicated to creating opportunities to improve lives and create a lasting, positive impact.
Objectives
Organizations are encouraged to:
- Address a health or human service need, concern, circumstance, or activity not adequately addressed or developed in the community,
- Respond to an emerging need
- Be collaborative in nature, have funding partners where possible, and a commitment of its own resources and funding
- Expand existing services into new communities throughout Northumberland County
- Improve ways of delivering needed services including accessibility
- Have the potential for long-term impact
- Identify with one of Northumberland United Way’s funding focus areas
- Provide a thorough evaluation following the year of funding completion

Funding Information
Grants will be a maximum of $5,000
Funding Guidelines:
- Projects must have defined goals and objectives
- The applicant must be a registered charitable organization providing services to residents of Northumberland County
- All applications must be submitted with a budget showing all revenue and expenses for the project

- Services those are primarily cultural, religious or political in nature
- Organizations whose primary function is fundraising
- Medical research
- Individuals
