Deadline: 30-Nov-2025
Community organisations are invited to apply for funding to support projects, events, and initiatives that strengthen communities, protect the environment, and encourage sustainable growth.
The focus areas include Manaakitanga – caring for our communities and people, and putting people at the heart of the decision; Kaitiakitanga – taking up the role of guardian and protector of our environment, for future generations; and Sustainability – improving, growing, learning and adapting in smart ways to make a difference.
The panel has full discretion to approve funding in full or in part. Typically, grants range from around $200 to $2,000. Applications must clearly demonstrate alignment with the organisation’s core values and meet the specified criteria. All expenses must be incurred within New Zealand, except for items not available domestically.
Grants must be applied to specific, future-based purposes, and there must be no conflict of interest between the applicant group and the provider of goods and services. Applicants must also ensure their community organisation is based within the outlined area indicated on the application form.
If funding is requested for general running costs such as power, landline telephone, rates, or building insurance, copies of invoices for the previous three months must be provided. Applications for existing salary positions must include a signed employment contract specifying the term, employee’s name, rate of pay, and position description. Funding will not be considered for individuals or activities that form part of a government-funded contract.
