Deadline: 25-Nov-2025
The Four Winds Foundation opens its funding doors to non‑profit organisations that have legal status such as an incorporated society, preferably also registered with the Charities Commission.
If your organisation is registered as an Incorporated Society or has another recognised legal status and ideally also registers with the Charities Commission, you may be eligible to apply. The Foundation’s grants are available for activities that serve a significant portion of the community and are non-commercial in nature.
The kinds of organisations envisaged include sporting clubs and teams, cultural groups such as performing arts societies or historical groups, philanthropic organisations working in health, welfare or rescue services, educational and research groups, and community-based groups like scouts or senior citizen organisations. The key requirement is that these bodies operate for the benefit of the community rather than for commercial gain. The Foundation has a preference for organisations whose base is located near the Foundation’s gaming machine venues — those situated outside these areas are encouraged to consider other local gaming trust funders.
To be considered for a grant, your organisation must have been operating for at least 12 months and can supply signed annual financial statements. Applications are processed monthly by a grants committee, with a cut-off date of the last working day of each month for inclusion in the next month’s meeting. Applicants are limited to four applications within any 12-month period and only one application per month.
This opportunity opens a pathway for non-profit bodies to secure support for their community-serving initiatives — whether it’s equipment for sport, support for cultural programmes, assistance for education, welfare or environmental projects — provided they meet the eligibility criteria and serve a broad community purpose. With proper organisation and understanding of the timing and the requirements, an eligible group stands a strong chance of being funded to further its work.
