The Higher School of Design of Aragon (ESDA) annually offers International student mobility placements for studies at partner institutions and internships at companies.
The main objectives of ESDA as an Erasmus Institution are to promote student and teacher mobility, build partnerships with European design organizations, enhance research and education through international collaboration, organize globally engaging academic and creative activities, and emphasize the importance of internationalization as a core value of the school’s policy.
ESDA, located in Zaragoza, offers specializations in Graphic Design, Interior Design, Product Design, and Fashion Design. The institution operates within a modern artistic and educational complex that also houses the Zaragoza School of Art and the Aragon Higher School of Design.
The facilities feature an auditorium, exhibition hall, cafeteria, and multifunctional event spaces, all designed to enhance creative and academic interaction while maintaining over a century of tradition in arts education.
The school regularly hosts the Design Practice Conference, a major event featuring renowned design professionals, and collaborates with CADI (Aragonese Center for Industrial Design) and the University of Zaragoza.
ESDA assists with insurance arrangements and provides additional support for travel, accommodation, and visa procedures. During their stay, students must comply with all academic and administrative requirements and submit an arrival certificate within ten days of reaching their destination.
Upon returning, students are required to provide a final certificate of stay, academic transcript, and a digital dossier of completed work. They must also complete an EU final report and participate in ESDA’s ERASMUSDAYS event to share their experiences.
The Erasmus+ funding for student mobility varies according to the cost of living in the destination country, with students receiving 650 euros per month for countries with higher living costs, 600 euros per month for those with average living costs, and 550 euros per month for destinations with lower living costs.
Students awarded Erasmus grants must attend preparatory meetings, sign the Grant Agreement, and ensure health insurance coverage, including the European Health Insurance Card and supplementary private insurance.
The Erasmus+ mobility process includes bilateral agreements between compatible institutions, outlining the number and duration of exchanges. Students are required to submit a digital portfolio, a CV with language proficiency details, and a work plan approved by both institutions.
Eligibility for participation requires students to be enrolled at ESDA, have passed all subjects from the previous academic year, and not have exceeded twelve months of prior Erasmus mobility. Depending on their year of study, students may apply for study mobility (SMS) or internship mobility (SMT).
All documentation must be submitted digitally through Google Classroom, and falsification of data will result in disqualification. The selection process is based on academic merit and language skills, with results published on the Erasmus notice board and ESDA’s website.
Faculty members follow a similar process for teaching and training exchanges. ESDA’s International Relations Office oversees all applications, documentation, and approvals to ensure compliance with Erasmus+ and SEPIE regulations.
Failure to meet obligations results in the full refund of the received grant. The same procedures apply to internship mobilities (SMT), where students secure placement in European companies related to their field of study.
ESDA prioritizes accessibility, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring full participation for students with disabilities and promoting equality regardless of background. The institution’s curriculum emphasizes strong industry connections through internships and collaborative research.
By fostering European partnerships and supporting innovative educational strategies, ESDA continues to strengthen its role within the Erasmus+ framework, enhancing its academic excellence and international reputation.
