The Coffs Harbour City Council is welcoming for its Community Organization Assistance Grant Program (Connectivity, Cohesion and Capacity Building) to provide financial assistance to eligible local community organizations to assist community members with the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Council is providing funding to support community organizations to develop projects that will promote community connection, overcome social isolation and build skill development. This includes the promotion of digital connectivity among vulnerable and disadvantaged community members.
Objectives
The intent of this grant program is to:
- Support and enable organizations to promote connection and social cohesion in the community;
- Strengthen the capacity and resilience of community organization to deliver services.
Funding Information
- Available Funding: $50,000;
- Minimum Grant: $2,000;
- Maximum Grant: $5,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must:
- Be an incorporated community organization;
- Operate within the Coffs Harbour local government area;
- Be operating and financially viable;
- Have $20 million public liability insurance (where appropriate);
- Adhere to sound workplace health and safety practices;
- Have no outstanding acquittals or debts owing to Council (or have entered into scheduled payment arrangements with Council, which are being met).
- The following are ineligible organizations types:
- Government departments and agencies;
- Organizations that receive more than 70% of their annual income from government sources;
- Have an annual income for 2019 (based on their latest audited reports) of more than $2 million.
- Individuals are not eligible to apply for funding under this grant.
- Applicants must be able to:
- Demonstrate a benefit for community members of the Coffs Harbour City Council local government area;
- Expend funds within six months of the date of remittance of funds;
- Demonstrate the capacity to undertake all aspects of the project including evaluating and documenting the outcomes.
