The “Entrepreneurship for Development” project, implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), launches a call for proposals for civil society organizations (CSOs) to directly support entrepreneurs in southern regions.
The overall objective of this call for proposals is to develop entrepreneurship in the 6 governorates of the South (Gabès, Gafsa, Kébili, Médenine, Tataouine, Tozeur) and thus give an alternative to salaried employment.
Funding Information
- The financial support proposed by UNDP under this call for proposals is 30,000 to 60,000 TND per association / NGO financed.
- The expected duration of a project should be between 6 and 8 months.
Geographical Area
- The financial support offered by UNDP under this call for proposals is intended for associative initiatives that will be implemented in the Governorates of Gabès, Gafsa, Kebili, Medenine, Tataouine, Tozeur.
Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must meet the following conditions to be eligible for a grant:
- Be a civil society organization whose headquarters and activities are based in Tunisia, in one of the governorates targeted by the call for proposals (Gabès, Gafsa, Kébili, Medenine, Tataouine, Tozeur);
- Be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action and not limit yourself to an intermediary role;
- Be independent of political parties/movements.
- Compliance with the provisions of Law No. 2018-48 relating to the declaration of assets and interests, the fight against illicit enrichment and conflict of interest;
- Registration in the national register of enterprises in accordance with the provisions of Law n ° 2018-52.
Criteria
- Possible characteristics of targeted entrepreneurs/companies:
- Existing micro-enterprises;
- Project leaders;
- Informal businesses in a process of formalization;
- Micro-enterprises of the social and solidarity economy;
- Micro-businesses impacted by the COVID 19 crisis.
- Possible typologies of beneficiaries:
- Vulnerable and/or marginalized populations (populations with disabilities, women victims of violence, illiterate people);
- Women, including unemployed graduates;
- Young people, including young unemployed graduates and those without a job, education no training.
- Possible areas of intervention of associations with beneficiaries:
- Support for business creation;
- Support for post-business creation;
- Support for business scale-up;
- Support for strengthening the resilience capacities of businesses;
- Support for the formalization of businesses;
- Support for the integration of companies into existing value chains or develop in the South;
- Support for the networking of entrepreneurs and companies with their ecosystem local and national;
- Support for professional retraining towards entrepreneurship;
- Support for the financial inclusion of beneficiaries/companies.
