The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has announced a call for proposals for the Contract for Civil Society Organization / Firm to conduct Boundary Harmonization and Confirmatory Survey for ten (10) communities in four projects affected (4) Counties.
UNDP is requesting all Civil Society Organizations, Community Based Organizations, women’s rights movements and women’s led groups to advocate and lobby for change in laws and policies at the same time create awareness on SGBV prevention through this “Call for Proposal”. CSO (s) are asked to develop an innovative project with SMART objectives and indicators to achieve the outcome and output mentioned above in the following format.
Objectives
The principal objectives of this consultancy are:
- To identify, demarcate and harmonize boundary of customary communities in project locations;
- To collect spatial data for demarcated boundary for customary communities in project locations;
- To develop a digital map for customary communities in project locations.
Funding Information
- Grant available upto USD 130,000,00.
- Duration of Contract: 4 Months (December 2020-April 2021).
Target Locations
- Grand Cape Mount, Maryland, Nimba and Sinoe Counties.
Eligibility Criteria
- The CSO is expected to possess the following qualifications:
- Must have at least three (3) years’ experience working to implement the Land Rights Act or women’s land rights activities; presence in either if the Four counties is an advantage;
- Should demonstrate ability or history of working on land issues or related areas (agriculture, forestry, etc.) as a strong added advantage;
- Should have strong organizational credibility, logistics, and systems to carry out such assignments;
- Demonstrated experience of working in Liberia;
- Demonstrated expertise in community engagement, negotiation skills and conflict prevention strategies;
- The consulting firm shall have the following key persons:
- Team Leader / Project Officer Academic Qualification: University degree (Master preferred) in Project Management or one of the key areas of expertise (Rural Development, Agriculture, Sociology, Land Administration, Surveying Geomatics, Forestry, etc). Experience:
- At least ten (10) years of progressive and responsible professional experience in Project management and other related areas;
- Demonstrated experience in working with national governments, communities, and diverse stakeholder groups;
- Reasonable experience in applying or engaging in community participatory approaches;
- At least 5 listed projects undertaking with a description of work and specific role;
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in data gathering, analysis, reporting, etc.
- Competencies:
- Timely delivery of high-quality analytical work;
- Strong problem-solving skills;
- Strong community engagement and negotiation skills;
- Excellent command of written and oral English is required;
- Strong technical report writing skills.
- Surveyor Academic qualifications: University degree in surveying (Master preferred) Experience:
- At least 6 years of progressively responsible and related professional experience in surveying Experience in Spatial data acquisition, analysis and reporting;
- At least 5 listed experience in assignments for similar undertaking with government, NGOs or reputable institutions;
- Competencies:
- Strong technical report writing and data analysis skills;
- High proficiency with digitized surveying equipment and software;
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills;
- Ability to work in difficult and challenging terrains;
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks.
