The Swansea Council for Voluntary Service (SCVS) is seeking applications for its Swansea Food Poverty Grant 2020/21 to tackle Food Poverty and address Food Insecurity in Swansea.
The Swansea Council for Voluntary Service is the umbrella organisation for voluntary activity throughout the City & County of Swansea, supporting, developing and representing voluntary organisations, volunteers and communities in the County.
Funding Information
- Small grants, up to £2,500.
Funding Priorities
- Applications for capital/revenue funding that address issues relating to food poverty including enhancing crisis food provision and community growing projects and spaces. For example, they would be interested in applications which address priorities such as:
- Capital:
- Extending existing food crisis provision;
- Food preparation and cooking equipment;
- Storage / storage solutions;
- Fridges/freezers;
- Mobile services;
- Growing spaces/growing resources;
- Enhanced access to and supply of food grown within communities;
- Website / App development e.g. directory, network, communications, etc.
- Revenue:
- Food;
- Staff e.g. foodbank staff / coordination of food activity / collection and distribution;
- Training; e.g. health and safety/cooking and nutrition skills;
- Volunteer expenses;
- Plus other initiatives which address a Food Poverty need in Swansea.
Eligibility Criteria
- Charitable or voluntary organisations, those with charitable objectives and not-for-private-profit organisations.
Closing dates for applications
- Round One – Quick Start applications (small grants, up to £2,500): 10 am Monday 14th December 2020.
- Round Two – Small Grants and Main Grant (over £2,500): 10 am Monday 11th January 2021.
- If sufficient funds are available – Round Three – Small Grants and Main Grant: 10 am on Monday 1st February 2021.
