The City of Lafayette Arts & Cultural Resources Department will be distributing grant money from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) funding from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to Lafayette-based artists and arts organizations.

- Lafayette Arts & Cultural Resources Department will be distributing $200,000 in grant money.
Eligibility Criteria
- Only 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, units of state or local government, institutions of higher education, or federally recognized Indian tribal governments are eligible to receive funds.
- Individual artists are also eligible to apply.
- Organizations must be based in Lafayette, and/or provide programming in Lafayette, and have been in operation for a minimum of two years.
- Individual artists must be at least 18 years old and have established residency in Lafayette and/or be active in Lafayette’s art and cultural scene for a minimum of two years.
- Recipients must meet a high level of artistic excellence and artistic merit as determined by the City of Lafayette’s grant reviewers.
- CARES Act funds are limited to salaries, fees for artists and other contracted personnel, and facilities costs (e.g., rent, utilities, etc.) incurred between 7/1/2020 and 6/1/2021.
- All organizations and individuals funded with Federal monies must prohibit discrimination, ensure accessibility of all facilities and programs, and provide for the protection of environmental and historic resources.
- Applicant certifies that to the best of its knowledge and belief that it is not presently debarred, suspended, proposed for disbarment, declared ineligible, or voluntarily excluded from receiving funding from a federally-funded program.
- Applicant agrees that any images, videos, or stories provided may be used by the City of Lafayette in promotional materials.
- Recipient must permit the City of Lafayette access to their records and financial statements as necessary for the City of Lafayette to ensure compliance with the Federal award requirements (200.331 (a)(5) and 200.333).
- Recipient agrees to keep contact information up to date as it relates to the City of Lafayette grants and communications.
- Final reports overdue for previous City of Lafayette grants must be filed before submission of this application.
- Recipients will be required to submit a final report for CARES funds by June 1, 2021. Failure to complete the report by the deadline will result in forfeiture of the opportunity to apply for future grant awards from the City of Lafayette.
