The Medina County Arts Council (MCAC) is seeking applications for its 2021 Grants program to advocate, support, and nurture the arts in Medina County.
MCAC, along with their friends and partners, is committed to inspire each generation to experience and participate in the arts through outreach and promotions; to enrich the quality of life and celebrate our artistic heritage; to make art accessible to all people throughout Medina County; to advocate for all forms of artistic expression essential to building vibrant, diverse, and inclusive communities; to encourage education, career opportunities, and entrepreneurship in the arts; and to continue sustaining and growing the organization.
Use of Grant Money
- The Medina County Arts Council does not provide funds for tangible property (i.e. paint, costumes, equipment, etc.) therefore grant applications should not request monies to purchase these types of items.
- Appropriate requests include financial support for general operating expenses, or for special projects such as guest artists’ fees, play royalties, publicity, etc.
- The funds must be used within the calendar year awarded (Jan. 1-Dec. 31).
Eligibility Criteria
- The requesting nonprofit organization must be located in Medina County.
- The nonprofit organization must have 501(c)(3) status or be a not-for-profit educational, religious, or recovery institution.
- Profits from any event or special project of the requesting organization shall be used to promote the arts in Medina County.
- The Mission Statement of requesting organization or the special project must have an arts focus.
Application Requirements
- Completed typed MCAC Grant application.
- Proof of 501(c)(3) status by including the Internal Revenue Service letter of determination of nonprofit status or proof of application OR, applications must be approved and signed by the administrator of the organization (i.e. schools/teachers by the principal, religious organizations by the acting head of the organization, recovery institutions by the program director.)
- A budget must be submitted in the application or attached to it. This estimate of expenses should also show anticipated sources of income including other grants and admission receipts.
