Deadline: 1-Feb-21
This Call for Proposals is open to community-based organizations across Manitoba to enhance supports and services to people who are victims of crime, or who experience victimization in Manitoba.
Applications are encouraged for a wide variety of initiatives to address the diverse needs of victims in Manitoba. In reviewing the applications, consideration will be given to ensuring service and initiatives are inclusive of a range of all victims based on:
- the type of criminal offence or victimization they have experienced
- geography or location
- Demographics including the unique needs of specific groups most impacted by crime.
The type of crime or victimization experienced is broad, and can include those who have been victims of crimes that have been reported to the police (e.g. homicide, aggravated assault, child abuse, driving fatalities or injuries) or more pervasive types of victimization that may often go unreported (e.g. sexual harassment, sexual assault and exploitation).
Funding Streams
Projects to be funded MUST meet the criteria of one of the funding streams:
- Stream 1 – An Indigenous-led agency addressing violence against Indigenous women, girls and people who identify as two-spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex and asexual (2SLGBTQQIA).
- Stream 2 – A community-based agency (Indigenous and non-Indigenous) developing a project to support victims of crime. This stream can include (but is not exclusive to) projects that address gender-based violence and MMMIWG.
