The Independent Media Empowerment Program (IMEP) has announced the sixth call for applications for the Media Production grant program.
IMEP is a USAID five-year program (April 2017 – April 2022) with the main goal to contribute to media independence and freedom of expression in Bosnia and Herzegovina by strengthening media sustainability, raising the quality of media content, strengthening the capacity of journalists, providing legal support to media organizations and journalists., including citizens as active participants who contribute to the media space, with elements of strengthening the capacity of citizens and strong promotion of independent media voices in BiH.
The main objectives of the IMEP grant award are:
- Support the production of high quality content, strengthen the independence of the media
- Improve the reach of media to users and communication with them
- Promote an innovative approach and critical thinking
- Contribute to a better environment for the work of media houses and journalists
- Strengthen the capacity of journalists and the media and the application of professional standards
- Promote the process of integration of BiH into the EU and NATO, equal rights for all, the fight against corruption as issues of interest for democratization of bh. society
Grant Media Production will be awarded to a private medium that will create quality independent content in line with professional journalism standards.
Media Production grants aim to support the production and distribution of content in a way that will include the general public, and related to the following social issues:
- fight against corruption
- integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina into the EU and NATO
- human rights
Funding Information
- The Sixth Public Call is the final round of calls within this project in which there will be a total for Media Production allocated 47,500 USD.
- The duration of the project within this Public Call is 12 months.
Eligibility Criteria
The media must meet the following conditions in order to be eligible to apply to this Public Call:
- To be registered in accordance with the positive legal regulations in Bosnia and Herzegovina and
- To achieve the goals in the field of public interest which is the subject of the Public Invitation and
- That they are private media.
