The U.S. Consulate General Peshawar Public Affairs Section (PAS) is seeking proposals for a grant providing training for young people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) interested in entrepreneurship with a specific focus on enhancing capacity for regional trade with Afghanistan.
The implementer will be a legally recognized non-profit and non-governmental organization that meets U.S. and Pakistani technical and legal requirements to develop and implement public diplomacy programs.
Project Goal: Increase entrepreneurial skills among youth in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with particular focus on those from the Newly Merged Districts, with a specific focus on sectors and services competitive for trade with Afghanistan.
Project Objective: Provide entrepreneurship training to 75-100 young people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Newly Merged Districts within eight months.
Funding Information
- Anticipated Award Amount: The award floor is $25,000; the award ceiling is $40,000.
- Duration of Award: 1 October 2021 to 30 June 2022
Audiences: Young adults in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with particular focus on those from the Newly Merged Districts, aged 18-25 with a demonstrated interest in entrepreneurship. The proposal should outline plans for at least 20 percent of participants to be from underrepresented groups, including but not limited to women, persons with disabilities, and LGBTI+ individuals.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility is open to international non-profit organizations. Organizations may sub-award or subcontract with other entities, but only one non-profit organization can be the prime recipient of the award. Pakistan government entities are not eligible to apply. For-profit entitles are not eligible to be the prime recipient of an award under this NOFO. When sub-awarding or sub-contracting with other entities, the responsibilities of each entity must be clearly defined in the proposal. The applicants must submit proof of their non-profit status with their proposal submission (e.g. proof of 501(c) (3) status, Pakistan NGO license). Applications that do not include proof of non-profit status will not be considered for an award. Individuals are not eligible for an award under this NOFO. U.S.-based or registered organizations should provide proof of registration to operate in Pakistan or have a documented agreement with a partner organization registered to operate in Pakistan.
