The Nordic Culture Point has launched a call for proposals for the Network Funding Programme for Culture strengthens artistic and cultural cooperation in the Nordic region and the Baltic countries.
The programme focuses on increasing the exchange of knowledge, contacts and interest in Nordic and Baltic art and culture. Network funding enables periods for cooperation, exchange of ideas and knowledge between professional artists and cultural workers in the Nordic region and/or the Baltic countries.
Funding Information
- Short-term funding: For networks which will work together for up to one (1) year, it is possible to receive funding of up to EUR 20,000 but the grant from Nordic Culture Point may comprise maximum 70% of the total budget.
- Long-term funding: For networks which will work together for up to three (3) years, it is possible to receive funding of up to EUR 100,000 but the grant from Nordic Culture Point may comprise maximum 50% of the total costs.
Eligibility Criteria
- Only professional artists and other professionals in the field (such as curators, producers, translators, cultural editors or researchers) within all culture and art forms can apply for funding. You can apply for funding as an individual, group, organisation or institution.
- “Professional” means that you have documented experience of work within the field of art and culture and/or have a degree in arts or culture.
- In order to apply for network funding, the applicant(s) should reside in the Nordic region (Denmark, Finland, the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and the Åland Islands) or Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) but it is not necessary for applicants to have Nordic or Baltic nationality.
- The network should comprise partners from:
- at least three Nordic and/or Baltic countries (Denmark, Estonia, Finland, the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden and the Åland Islands).
- The network may comprise additional partners who do not operate in the Nordic region or Baltic countries.
How is an application assessed?
The assessment is conducted based on the above mentioned criteria and on how well the application has managed to convey the following:
- Clear objectives and schedule
- The network should clearly define its overall objectives and have a set schedule. Applications with new and innovative ideas and objectives are often valued.
- Quality and cooperation
- The networks should be initiated to plan artistic initiatives and/or to develop cooperation and new ways of working together. The network should create new contacts within its area of work and have contact with other networks. New networks and cooperation with cultural diversity or between several different types of artistic and cultural bodies are prioritised in the assessment.
- Communication
- The network should strive to make its work accessible to others and disseminate information about its results in a transparent manner.
- The Nordic-Baltic dimension: In this context the Nordic-Baltic dimension means that the network:
- Promotes and increases contacts, communication and activities between the Nordic and/or Baltic countries;
- Strengthens the Nordic-Baltic presence in cultural life in the Nordic region and Baltic countries;
- Strengthens understanding of similarities and differences between the Nordic and Baltic countries;
- Increases knowledge of the Nordic and Baltic artists and the visibility of their work.
