The Community Foundation for Ireland is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from arts organizations that operate in Cork City.
The donor is passionate about the Arts and its power to bring about progressive personal growth and social change. Their wish for the Fund is to identify catalysts, via a small number of programs/initiatives/bursaries in Cork city and county that will support the development of artistic practice, particularly in emerging from Covid-19 in 2021. It is of interest that the work includes addressing or giving voice to, social disadvantage or justice.
Examples of what the fund could support include:
- Community outreach arts programmes that engage people in arts practice. This could include music, creative writing, theatre, performance, or innovative uses of technology.
- Initiatives that give voice through artistic medium to marginalized groups, or issues.
- Bursary funding to support new artistic work by practicing individuals or organisations.
Funding Information
- Funding of €200,000 is available to be distributed between a projected 1-3 key partner organisations.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must operate in either Cork City or County and be registered as a charity, or have a clear charitable purpose stated within its founding document (Constitution or Memorandum and Articles of Association).
- Proposals should demonstrate how funding would help to apply the arts as a mechanism for the engagement and support of marginalised groups / or would give voice to social inclusion.
- Projects must be aimed at supporting new cycles of programs/initiatives/publication or production.
- The Fund is only open to Arts organisations. It is not open to individuals. However, proposals are welcome from organisations that could act as conduits to support active individuals who require bursary funding.
- The Fund is not open to sporting bodies or profit-making enterprises.
- Ongoing costs for existing programmes of work will not be considered.
- Core costs, overheads, and salary costs will not be supported by the Fund, although project-specific staff costs that do not fall within existing overheads may be considered.
