Public call for project proposals is implemented within the activities “Leaders in Action: Emancipation and provision of services in humanitarian and emergency practices during the pandemic”, which is implemented as part of the project Women in Elections in BiH (hereinafter WIE), funded by the Government of Sweden.
The general goal of this public call is to support the initiatives of women leaders, in response to the identified social needs in emergencies. The implementation of these initiatives at the local level aims to contribute to building dynamic and inclusive communities through the active involvement of women and innovative ideas, which will enable a better life for residents in these communities, especially for those in greater need. Accordingly, the Public Call aims to encourage initiatives of community organizations, which contribute to the improvement of social aspects and the well-being of the community as a whole.
Areas within which project proposals can be submitted are the following:
- Local initiatives to start agricultural cooperatives and support women engaged in agricultural production;
- Support for seamstresses and individual capacities for the production of medical visors and adaptation of production to current needs, in accordance with the needs for individual health care (masks, protective suits) in ten partner LGUs;
- Social innovations or initiatives that reduce the pressure caused by the complete or partial unavailability of public services for children, adolescents, and the elderly, especially in the field of preschool education and care, and new online educational content complementary to existing services in the local community.
Projects supported through this public call should aim to strengthen and affirm women’s leadership, women’s activism and social cohesion and to support women through the engagement of leaders, activists and other actors and, where possible, initiate solutions to important social and humanitarian needs in local community, and at the same time respond to the priorities of that community in the context of the COVID 19 pandemic.
Funding Information
- Financial support for local initiatives per individual project with which it is applied cannot be lower than 3,000 KM, nor higher than 15,000 KM per each local self-government in which the project is implemented.
Expected Results
The following results are expected from the implementation of projects supported through this public call:
- Successful implementation of up to 10 projects/initiatives of leaders, in response to identified social needs in emergencies/emergencies.
- Initiating 6 solutions to important social needs in the local community.
- Successful implementation of 5 social innovations/initiatives that reduce the pressure caused by complete or partial unavailability of public services.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to meet the eligibility requirements, applicants must be legally registered legal entities in BiH which may be:
- Non-profit / non-governmental organizations;
- Citizens’ associations with the aim of improving public services for children, adolescents, and the elderly;
- Agricultural cooperatives.
