Deadline: 22-Feb-21
The Cheshire Community Foundation is seeking applications for its Warrington Older Peoples Fund – Main Grants Programme to improve the lives of people aged 50+ who live in the Borough of Warrington.
Target Groups
- The Foundation is particularly keen to support projects which will target:
- Older people living in deprived neighbourhoods.
- Older people living in rurally isolated areas/areas where transport links are poor.
- Older people who do not currently take part in activities or access services.
- Groups of older people with shared, identifiable needs – such as men, people from BME communities, LGBT communities, bereaved people, people living alone, people with long-term health conditions, people with sensory impairments and those with additional needs.
- The Foundation is particularly keen that the programme enables applicant groups to:
- Target new individuals who have not used their services before.
- Develop practical, low-cost, sustainable activities and/or services that can continue after the grant has been spent.
- Consider new or different ways of working that can be developed or expanded in the future, to take account of the changing demographic profile and needs of older people
Funding Information
- Minimum/maximum: £1,000 to £10,000 over one year.
Outcomes
The four outcomes Foundation hope to achieve for older people:
- Improved physical and mental health and wellbeing.
- Reduced social isolation.
- Increased independence and capability.
- Greater sharing of older people’s skills, experience, wisdom and time with others in a positive way.
Eligibility Criteria
The Foundation can only fund organisations:
- Whose work primarily benefits people living within one of the three local authorities of Cheshire East, Warrington and Cheshire West and Chester. Regional or national organisations working in Cheshire may be considered if they can demonstrate that they are the best organisation to tackle a particular social issue or address a specific need and there is no local organisation able to do this.
- That are “not for profit”; such as charities, community groups and social enterprises, that can demonstrate a clear community benefit in their constitution or governing document. The governing document should state clearly how any profits are to be reinvested for community benefit. There is no requirement for applicant organisations to be registered charities.
- Where partnership applications are received, will consider project proposals where some of the partner organisations are based outside Cheshire, but the Foundation would expect local organisations to take a lead in that partnership.
- The Cheshire Community Foundation is unable to fund the core running costs of infrastructure organisations.
- Where organisations are “in crisis”, will endeavour to offer support but this may not necessarily be financial support.
- In special circumstances, grants to individuals in need will be considered.
